We believe the child grows and develops as a total individual human being. Our school's purpose is to meet the needs of your child by accepting where her/his growth is physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively; and to introduce her/him to activities that provide growth in these areas.
We are a Two Star Step Up to Quality" Preschool Program.

Jungle Room:
Ms. Josselyn
I am from Cambridge, Ohio but currently live in Worthington. I graduated from Cambridge High School and am currently a Social Work major at Capital University. I love working with children of all ages, especially the younger ones. I enjoy the excitement that children have coming in to class every day. Watching them learn and grow motivates me to be a lifelong learner as well. I am very excited to be part of the Dublin Community Preschool family.
Ms. Katie
I am new to Dublin Community Preschool this year. I am a graduate of The Ohio State University. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. I have two younger brothers, one a senior in high school and the other a sophomore in college. I also have two dogs, a Jack Russell named Tucker and a lab named Hannah. I grew up in a family of teachers so I have always had a passion for teaching. I am very excited to start my first year at Dublin Community Preschool. I will be teaching the 2’s and young 3’s along with Lunch Bunch and Enrichment classes.
Bears Room:
Ms. Jane
I have been a full-time teacher at DCP for the past 21 years. This year I will cut down my schedule to three days a week. I have a Masters Degree in Art Education I have two adult children, Mara is 27 and Tom is 30. They live in New York City. I love teaching preschool because I so enjoy 4 and 5 year olds. They are honest and open and naturally creative and I am able to use my background in Art in planning activities for them. I love working at DCP, in particular, because it has become a sort of family to me. Over the years my DCP sisters and I have raised our children together, sharing in graduations, prom nights, weddings, births of grandchildren and even deaths of loved ones. When my husband of 31 years died a few years ago, they all were such a wonderful support to me. I love to garden, cook, paint, and travel. I have a wonderful little Welch Corgi named Max who keeps me company when I am not at school.
Ms. Janice
I have enjoyed teaching at Dublin Community Preschool for the past 18 years. I graduated from Ohio University in 1974 with a degree in Art Education. I spent 4 years teaching at the elementary level before my husband Dave and I started our family. Our daughter Katie, her husband Matt and their 2-year-old daughter Abby live in Chicago. Our son Lee and his wife Heather live in Tampa. We would love to have them all closer but we have fun places to visit when we see them!!
We all went to Ohio University so we are all about the BOBCATS! My husband is from Canada and we are fortunate to have a great little cottage on a lake and go up in the summer where the kids and other family and friends come to relax, wave run all over the lake and watch the stars! I also enjoy walking and biking and just being “gramma”!
Teaching at DCP is a joy and a pleasure. I always look forward to learning about our new students and their families. We have a great staff of teachers who enjoy working together, working with young people and sharing ideas in the classroom.
Ms. Patty
I have been teaching preschool for over 10 years and enjoy seeing things through the preschooler’s viewpoint, because even the smallest things are exciting to them! I earned my Education degree from Bowling Green State University and took some extra graduate courses from Ohio State. I am always learning a new technique through the professional development courses we take.
I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have two daughters- a 26-year-old daughter (getting married in May!), and a 20-year-old daughter. We also have a very active yellow Labrador Retriever named Cayla.
In my spare time, I enjoy doing any fitness or dance classes, and also enjoy reading. In the last months we have spent some fun weekends looking at wedding dresses, flowers, etc.
Ms. Sue
This is my first year of teaching at DCP, and I am so excited to teach and learn with your preschoolers!
I have a BA from Boston University and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Initially, I worked in hospitals, but mainly I worked as a mental health therapist with children and families at Children’s Hospital Guidance Center.
My longest job, however, has been that of a stay-at-home mom with my two children, Ian and Chloe (both redheads). Along with this, I have been a busy volunteer in many different ways in Dublin City Schools for the past 16 years. Ian is at the end of his college career at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in photojournalism. Having been a baseball player and rower, he hopes to pursue a career in sports photography. Chloe is a senior at Dublin Scioto High School and about to apply to colleges this fall. She loves oil painting and writing and is the Editor-In-Chief of the school’s newspaper, the Irish Eye. My husband of 31 years, Bruce, works in advertising and paints in oils whenever he can. Last, but not least, we have Zappa, our feisty little Scottish Terrier.
Things I love to do are gardening (I actually enjoy weeding), photography, and swimming. At the top of my favorite things list has to be, being in the ocean- not AT the ocean, but IN the ocean.
I am thrilled to be starting this new chapter of my life here at DCP!
Rainforest Room:
Ms. Florence
I have approximately fifteen years experience teaching preschool children! I have taught at several preschools in Florida and Ohio. I believe Dublin Community Preschool to be the best because of it's high three star rating, excellent curriculum and superior staff/teachers! I feel very fortunate to be part of the DCP team!
My other teaching experience includes designing and teaching Daddy and Me Classes and Kid Camps at two of the local Recreation Centers. I am also a former Counselor and teacher who taught remedial reading and GED classes.
I attended Florida State University and interned in a private school while taking early childhood courses. I graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree. My major coursework was in Psychology/Social and Behavioral Sciences.
I became a preschool teacher because I love interacting with children and watching their faces light up when they learn something new. I believe that teaching your child the joy of discovery and that learning new things is fun and exciting is the key to their success in education.
I have been happily married to Jim for 32 years and we have two wonderful adult children, Heather and Justin. We also have a 3-year-old dog named Savannah. I enjoy watching movies, reading books, traveling, going to the beach in the summer, playing Bridge, working out doing Zumba and Jazzercise, taking long walks with my husband and dog, and getting together with family and friends.
Ms. Michelle
This is my 7th year teaching at DCP and my 14th overall. All three of my children went to school at Dublin Community Preschool. As a parent, I volunteered on the executive board for 7 years, including 2 years as the President. It has been so wonderful to work with all of these amazing teachers that I have known for so many years.
My husband Rich and I have been married for 23 years and have 3 great children. We also have a 13 year old German Shepherd named Roxi. Ian is 17 and senior at Hilliard Davidson. He plays football and piano & cello for the Chamber Orchestra. Megan is 14 and in the 8th grade. She is on the basketball team and plays soccer for Ohio Premier. She also plays cello for her school’s orchestra and plays piano. Gillian is 12 and in the 6th grade. She also plays basketball, soccer for Ohio Premier, and plays piano and viola. We are a very busy family but still find the time to have dinner together every night.
Although I spend a lot of time with our family’s extracurricular activities, I like to find time to golf, read and do some gourmet cooking. Since I have been teaching at DCP, I have continued to take classes in early childhood development and psychology. I also plan to earn my Child Development Associates Credential this year.
Moose Room:
Ms. Chris
I have taught preschool for 23 years. Twenty-one of those years have been here at Dublin Community Preschool. I have lived in the Dublin area for 26 years.
My children attended the Dublin Schools and graduated from Dublin Coffman. My son, Ryan, is a Lt. at the Concord Fire Department. He and his wife, Holly, live in Dublin with their sons, Braxton and Brayden. My daughter, Katie, is a nurse practitioner in an OSU Family Practice office.
I love summer and gardening! We recently purchased a house in Marco Island, Florida that we are fixing up. We are looking forward to having a warm place to go during those long winter months to just get away for a few days!
Ms. Linda D.
I am originally from New Jersey, which is where my career began…”once upon a time”
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Trenton State College. (It is now called The College of New Jersey.) I also have been trained in and have taught in a Montessori School in East Greenwich, RI. This is my 12th year at Dublin Community Preschool.
I have a sister and two nephews that live in NJ. I married my high school sweetheart. This January we will be married 35 years! We have one daughter, Danielle. She has been married for five years. Together she and her husband Jacob have added to our “family tree”. We now have a happy, healthy two-year-old grandson named Hayden who I just love to pieces when we are together.
Other activities that I enjoy are reading. My favorite author is Mary Higgins Clark. I also enjoy books written by her daughter Carol Higgins Clark. I am a winter person. I love snow and cold weather, the colder the better! And finally, I love to cook. My kitchen is affectionately referred to as my “happy place” I could spend the whole day just cooking in the kitchen and listening to Andrea Bocelli. I would love someday to go to Tuscany but for now it will remain a distant thought. My best memories in the kitchen are making Christmas cookies with my Dad.
I love dogs. Over the years I’ve had two of my own both were black Great Danes. We did the dog show circuit for a while and they did very well bringing home their share of ribbons. My love for big dogs must have been the prerequisite for my love of moose. I was on vacation in New Hampshire when I saw my first real moose in the wild. We were driving back to the hotel late at night. There were no streetlights to light the road through The White Mountains, and as my husband went around the bend in the road he just stopped the car. Here in the middle of the road stood a female moose. It was amazing. That was it; from then on I have collected all kinds of moose things. In 2005 our room needed a theme so I jumped at the chance and Moose Meadow was established. Mr. McTavish is our resident moose. He can be found in our reading center most times. The children love to sit on his lap while looking through the books. Next time you go to the zoo, stop by North America and see “our” moose. We will be adopting it this year.
As I said my career a long time ago and along the way, after my daughter was born, my Mom gave me some advice. She said,” The best thing you can give a child is your time”. I took that advice to heart and here I am 30 plus years later still enjoying my job and the hundreds of children that have passed through my classrooms over the years.
Ms. Wendy
I have returned to Dublin Community Preschool for the 25th year. After “retiring” twice, I was fortunately able to come back and teach with Chris Scholl. Chris and I have been friends for a very long time. We graduated together from Northland High School in Columbus and our oldest sons graduated together from Dublin Coffman.
I am from Gettysburg, Pa. and traveled quite a bit growing up. I lived in a different state, including Canada, for every grade in elementary school. My father was a construction engineer and seemed to build every big factory in the USA. I have many wonderful memories and favorite places and can usually strike up a conversation with just about anyone.
I graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, WV with an Early Childhood Degree. I renewed my teaching certificate through Ashland University.
I am married and the mother of three adult children. My youngest and only daughter is a senior at University of Kentucky and the boys are well into their careers. I am blessed to have a beautiful granddaughter who is 7 and in 2nd grade. We get together often since they live in central Ohio.
In my down time, I love to read, take walks, listen to my iPod, play Angry Birds on my iPod, knit (mostly scarves), snap photos with my new camera and cheer for my favorite teams. I love sports! ESPN is one of my favorite channels. I am a huge NCIS fan, too! I love a good joke and laugh often.
Furry Friends Room:
Ms. Jessica
This is my first year at DCP and I am excited to begin. I received my Masters Degree from OSU this past December in Early Childhood Education and hold a current teaching license in pre-k through 3rd grade. I will be a full time Lead Teacher as well as the buildings Education Coordinator.
Outside of teaching I spend my time at home with my 4 year old son Ty; he is the love of my life and the reason for everything I do. We have a puppy named Nora as well. We currently live in Worthington but are originally from Delaware.
I have always known I wanted to be a teacher. I love children and I love learning. So it has always made perfect sense for me. I hope to instill my love of learning into all of my students, as this will be their first school and I will be one of their first teachers! I hope to learn just as much from my students as they learn from me this year!
Ms. Julie
This is my 10th year of teaching at DCP. I have a background in recreation education and am working towards my ECD certification at Columbus State.
My husband Mike and I have lived in Dublin for 17 years. We have two talented and incredibly busy children, Kelsey and Ross. Kelsey attends Dublin Scioto High School where she plays varsity volleyball and softball. She is also involved in several clubs and is an honor student. Ross is at Davis Middle School where he participates in band and orchestra. He is also a member of CSYO, Taiko Drumming and DYA basketball and baseball. Ross is also involved in several clubs at school and is on the honor roll.
I enjoy working at DCP because our staff is like a family and we have a lot of fun together. I also like to watch the children learn and grow throughout the year. The stories are pretty good too! Dublin Community Preschool is a great place to learn!
Coral Reef Room:
Ms. Jenny
I graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. I have since been working in the field for almost 15 years. I took a few years off after having my third child and am now so excited to be back teaching in the classroom! I have 3 children…Ava is 10 years old, Max is 8 years old, and Liam is 4 (he also attends Dublin Community Preschool). They keep me extremely busy!!! In what little free time I have- I enjoy biking, working out, reading and hanging out with friends. I love everything about DCP…the teachers, children, parents all make up such a positive learning atmosphere! I feel so lucky to be here!
Ms. Linda R.
I have been a teacher at Dublin Community Preschool for 26 years. I first began coming to DCP many years ago when I would bring my daughters. They were 4 and 4 at the time and now Leslie is 32 and Ashley is 31. I also have a granddaughter that attended DCP and is now in 3rd grade.
We have lived in Dublin for 33 years. I came from a small town in the southern part of Ohio called Portsmouth. I still have family that live there and go home often.
I have taken over 200 hours of early childhood professional development over the years. I continue to take trainings and learn new ways of bringing new ideas to the classroom. I love working with young children and watching them learn and grow. I especially like hearing them tell stories and yes we do hear some good ones!
I like to read a good book, take walks and spend time with my granddaughter. Working at DCP for so many years, we have all become like a family. We have been through weddings, deaths and our children graduating from high school and college. Many of us have had to deal with serious health issues and have gotten through them because we had each other.
I am excited to begin another year at Dublin Community Preschool!
